My designs are influenced by nature and personal,
but common, emotional events. I use sterling to draw
simple lines, and include old beads or found objects
if they appeal to me. I am motivated by the history of
adornment and how we have attached our ideas of
beauty, remembrance, and celebration to our efforts
at decoration regardless of our position
in human history.
Each piece is designed and crafted with a commitment
to sustainability and the environment as a priority.
I incorporate reclaimed components and avoid all
soldering, casting, and use of chemicals.
100% of my energy use is offset by wind power,
and when I have to use paper, only 100% post
consumer waste will do.
The result is work that is sentimental, anthropological
and simple…with a bit of a wink.
So, I am consumed by this pretty little thing called jewelry. I think about it
almost all of the time. Ideas are all around me...
on the street - in the toy chest - within a map.
However, please don't get the impression that I take it too seriously.
There is too much in life to waste one's time on super-silly-ousness.
